Well, we got together with Sarah, Sherri and all 7 of our kids yesterday. I was again surprised at the lack of chaos with 7 children under the age of 4 in one area. Brodie and Molly played nicely (or if they didn't, no one complained), and the babies were content (mostly). As I was getting ready to leave, one of the babies decided to poop in the cloth diapers that I had just put on. I was hoping that the first one would have occurred at home...
Brodie and I finally got to catch fireflies last night. He has surprising accuracy. He would stand motionless in the middle of the yard, and then his head would whip side to side. He'd take off running on tiptoes, and make 1 or 2 swipes with his net, and scream, "I caught one!" We started collecting them in a jar, but when I pointed out that the fireflies wouldn't stay alive in the jar, he agreed to the "catch and release" program.
Today my goals are to come up with some solid 4th of July weekend plans, and to get my tutoring area set up and make sure my activities are in order for tonight. I also promised Brodie we'd make pocket pizza (calzones) tonight. He sure likes his fruit! I brought a big bowl of fruit salad with to Sarah's yesterday and that's all he wants to eat! For breakfast we all had fruit salad and cream cheese on toast.
Now I must go collect babies. I hear a "defector" who made it into the hallway.
