In my attempts to not sit on the computer day checking the message board, I decided to finsh a book that I started a LONG time ago. Much of my day is now spent sitting in the living room while free-range babies explore every corner, so I figured if I gate off the hallway and keep half an eye on everyone, I could actually read. If it gives you any indication about how long it's been since I read a book, when I opened it up, hospital paperwork from September fell out. That is correct. The only books that I have read in the past 10 months have been childcare, twin books, cookbooks, and picture books.
So after dinner, we took everyone to the library. The only problem was the girls needed to keep moving which made it kind of hard to browse for books. Brodie picked out 4 dinosaur books. He wanted ten, but we said we had to leave some for the other kids. He also picked out a bug book (that I already own and have in my stash of new books hidden away) and I picked a book for him about going to preschool. I checked out The Vanished Man by Jeffrey Deaver. It's another Lincoln Rhyme book (The Bone Collector) so I thought I'd try it. I also checked out the Bourne Supremacy. The Bourne Identity was checked out, so I'll read them out of order. I don't even know what books or authors I like anymore! I'll take suggestions that anyone has.
After we got home and put everyone to bed, Tom and I were reading and watching TV, when I realized that I never cleaned up the kitchen, since we left for the library right after dinner. I went in and clanged around for 20 minutes...Empty dishwasher, load dishwasher, wash pans...as soon as I flipped the cap on the dishwasher detergent, Tom calls from the living room, "Need some help?" Males, who teaches you this "skill" of knowing the precise moment that a task has been completed before offering to "help?" Seriously, is there a special class? *grumble*

Oh yeah? Well I had to HAND-WASH our garbage can at 11 p.m. last night because Kim and I have been too busy to empty it -- so I took one for the team!
Going back a ways, David Morrell is a great author, action/adventure (and Rambo). Or John Irving for modern "literature." "A Prayer for Owen Meany" is one of the best books I've ever read.
I love Owen Meany!
