Look, Ma! No hands!

Brodie was a bit disappointed yesterday that he couldn't go to preschool, but he was up at 5:30 today! Tom took him this morning at 7:00.

So, as I was talking to mom on the phone this morning, I glanced over at the babies in the playard. Cate was standing, then she let go of the playard with both hands! It was only for a moment, but NOW she's trying it again and again, and I'm already noticing that she stands alone for a little bit longer each time. I don't know why, but that is just a heart-stopping moment for me in so many ways: I wait for the crash to Earth, and I realize that we have reached yet another no-turning-back milestone, for starters. I liken these milestones to the scene in Jurassic Park when the humans realize that the velociraptors can turn the doorknobs, and open doors. Speaking of Jurassic Park, Cailey is QUITE fond of shrieking like a raptor, even when she's happy. It is most ear-splitting.

Wonder what Brodie is up to...
