So, I finished the quilt top yesterday. Last night we went to Hobby Lobby for batting and backing/binding material. I don't remember exactly how to baste, (Tom wanted to know if I'm making a turkey or a quilt) so I had to do some research. I bought some material that is an antiqued-looking palamino/dappled/brown-holstein type print. I am SO bad in math it is ridiculous. All I had to do was measure and cut two long pieces of this fabric. I think I ironed, measured, folded, measured, unfolded, remeasured....for almost 2 hours. And I STILL messed it up. So instead of 2 long strips, I have 4 squares. Oh, well. It's the back, and after I machine-quilt it no one would know the difference. I know I'm going to forget how to do the binding, too.
It has been storming here on and off since 1:30 A.M. Dark, rainy, thunder, lightning...the power has gone out momentarily twice today. Notice that I am still on the computer, though. Ha! What am I going to do when I go back to work next fall? I'll probably have to be enrolled in some sort of 12-step program for message boarders and bloggers.
