Wedding weekend getaway

Friday, my parents came for the weekend. We played outside with the kids and had burgers on the grill. I made all the necessary preparations and created an "instruction manual" for the kids along the lines of War and Peace.

Saturday morning we said our goodbyes (Brodie was a bit reluctant to let me leave) and headed to Madison. Laura and Jason's wedding was beautiful. It was at the Allen Centennial Gardens. The weather didn't completely cooperate. It started to sprinkle during the ceremony, and then it became pretty windy and the rain grew heavier toward the end. Most of the guests were under a tent, but the wedding party was not. The minister cut a lot short to accomodate ("Man and wife! Say man and wife!"--Princess Bride). We hung out with some old friends before the reception at Brocach's Irish Pub across from the Capitol. It was fun to catch up with Dan and Annie. The reception at Monona Terrace was lovely. Laura did such a nice job planning everything. We reminisced about our college days and everyone got pretty silly on the dance floor, even Tom! I took pictures of Aaron dancing, but they turned out pretty dark.

Sunday, Tom and I had breakfast together, picked up some Burgundy Pepper Sirloin from Ken's Meats, and headed back. Everything went well while we were gone. My sister came to help my parents on Saturday and spent the night (left her sunroof open, too, and it rained). Brodie was glad to have us back. We had a date to catch fireflies last night, but we only saw two, on account of the chilly weather.

Tom and I also watched the World's Fastest Indian, which I thought was pretty good.

Oh! The inserts for the cloth diapers came on Saturday, but no diapers yet! *sigh*
