We headed out to Cheryl and Mike's yesterday afternoon. On the way there, we passed a shirtless man by the side of the road, tending to his burn barrel, and Brodie said, "Was that Poppy?" Shirtless man + burning garbage = my dad? Hmmm. Brodie and Elizabeth played nicely and had a good time. They played "Safety Control," while riding in Elizabeth's Barbie Jeep--helmets required! The babies were a little cranky due to a short nap, but I think they weren't TOO bad. Dinner was excellent. I always enjoy hanging out with other parents! We were home by 8:00, and put the cranky babies to bed. Brodie and I frosted our 4th of July cake that we had started earlier, and the three of us had some cake!
Today is hot, humid, and rainy. The babies are rolling all over, Brodie's watching TV, and I'm hangin' out on the message board. Pretty boring day. Tomorrow is kind of up in the air. It's supposed to be nice, and there are going to be 4th of July festivities downtown all day, but I don't know if we will participate. I'm sure we'll be feasting on grilled meat and corn on the cob, though!
