Elmo, Spike, and stuffing (???)

Brodie was off to preschool today, while the girls fussed, snorted and snotted through their breakfast. I did manage to get them down for a nap while I cleaned up a little. My mom called me to tell me to turn on The Today Show, because I would NEVER believe my eyes. It was Elmo and the man behind Elmo, Kevin Clash. I laughed and disappointed my mother to no end because I already knew that "Elmo" was in fact, a HUGE black man. I may not know anything relating to current events, but I know my children's programming trivia!

Apparently my dad won a golf outing with Spike O'Dell, and a 2 night stay in a swank pad. We NEVER win anything! Since Tom is Irish, you know what they say, "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all."

I gave the babies stuffing for lunch. HEY. Before you judge me, it was homemade, with whole wheat bread cubes, cranberries, apples, and celery. They haven't eaten much of anything with their colds, so I was happy to see them shovelling in the stuffing. After lunch, we picked up Brodie at school and headed to the store to pick up more cold medication and some prescriptions. We talked about his good day on the way to the store. Apparently, Brodie has taken quite a shine to Emma and Chloe. Later he told me that both girls have told him not to pat their hair. I said, "Did you stop patting them?" He said, "Yes. But then I patted them again." *sigh* No means no, kid. I realized that this was my first trip to a store with all 3 kids, and no other adult helper! Brodie has become extremely well behaved, and was absolutely wonderful, even when we had to wait at the pharmacy for a few minutes. Cailey was screaming bloody murder and people were staring at me like I was nuts (and I am). I just kept smiling, and pushing the stroller back and forth...

We came home, got the double deuce (babies pooped simultaneously), medicated (the babies-not me), and put to everyone to bed. I had a few moments to enjoy my newest old obsession, Laverne and Shirley. HEY. Before you judge me, the episode with Ted Danson as Laverne's firefighter boyfriend....tearjerker.

The girls are sleeping restlessly again tonight. There's lots of sounds emanating from up there. Coughs, sneezes, crying, toys being activated...I hope we all can sleep tonight.

You know, some of us still live under the illusion that Elmo is just a fuzzy 3-year-old ...
