In my house, the word "Bye" is much like "Aloha." It is complex and multi-faceted in it's many meanings. Let me share some examples.
Bye: Goodbye
Bye: I want to go somewhere
Bye: You're leaving?!
Bye: Get away from me.
Bye: I don't want this food. I shall throw it on the floor.
Bye: Good night
Bye: Wait! I don't want to sleep! Come back!
Bye: Uh, I threw something down the laundry chute.

The girls are starting to act more "twinny" now. They are starting to play together a little bit. They like to chase each other in and out of the entryway and giggle. The bullying has let up a little, and occasionally if Cailey is upset, Cate will offer her a toy.
This morning they were attempting to feed each other Cheerios, but they were too far apart, and when the phone rang, they both started chanting, "Bye! Bye!" (see above)
They are really starting to stand out from each other in the personality department. Cate is all about shoes and jewelry. Cailey loves her "babies" and stuffed animals. She likes to watch Elmo and bring me things that Elmo and Dorothy are thinking about. Last week she brought me some stuffed kitties when they were "thinking about cats," and today Elmo was talking about horses, and she found all the Little People horses.
I think language development is coming along. Cate loves to talk and sing and has quite a few words. Her longest sentence was yesterday, when I took her temperature with an ear thermometer. When it beeped in her ear she said, "Uh-oh, what's that?"
She loves to sing the ABCs (somewhat coherently, but not correctly) and count, and she's trying to learn Twinkle Twinkle. Cailey is quieter. I think she doesn't have much to say, and can't get a word in edgewise around here.
Brodie started swim lessons last night after a 2 year hiatus. Gone is the screaming toddler, yelling "Let me up, [Mrs.] Mac!" He had an absolute blast and was more fearless than I anticipated, while still showing "respect" of the water. He did not stop talking the entire time, and since it's loud and echo-y in there, Mrs. Mack couldn't understand half of what he was saying, so she just said things back to him, like, "Uh-huh. Do you have a job? Where do you work? Are you married yet?" LOL.
